Improvements to be made: Feedback

Cover: The things that need to be changed on my cover is the photo, it needs to be stronger pose and clothing. It needs to be eye catching to the audience. I think for this I will have the photo in colour and change the clothing as they don't represent the genre of music well. Also the pull quote used needs to be stronger as it is not very exciting and I could also put the quote on Liana which then shows in links in with her article. The words 'Win tickets' should also be put in a shape or different colour to make it stand out and make the audience attracted to buying the magazine. I also need to think of what else goes on the cover such as a price- maybe next to the bar code- and other articles which would feature in a music magazine. The colour palette is good, however, the alternative colours on the blue and white need to be worked on.

Contents: I need other artists on my contents page, so I will need to take more photos- of both males and females- to go on here and also think about where to put the photos in relation to the writing on the page. I also need to think about putting more information on the photos. I need to add more subheadings on my magazine as the 3 are not enough, and also think about page numbers and add more articles as the magazine looks like it doesn't contain much information.

DPS: The strongest part of my magazine. It reads well and the language and register is good, so this will not need to be changed. I need to make sure the page number ties in with what was written on the contents page.

I feel that I will need to take a few more photos for my front cover, contents and  double page spread with a range of mid shots, long shots and close ups. These photos will need to be of both male and females, and also pictures associated with music. I also need to look at the font as it looks too like 'text message' written when on the page, I need to go for a more bolder font to stand out. I may also use another colour on the front cover and contents- like I've used the purple on the DPS- I could also do this to separate the blue and white as I feel there is too much of those two colours. I may also decide to change from a black background to white as I feel the black and white photos do not stand out too well on it.
