Who would be the audience for your media product?
For my media product, the target audience would be females who are 16-21. My magazine would also be aimed at those who are into artists such as: Jack Johnson, The Fray, Snow Patrol, The Script, Lissie, Laura Marling and Ellie Goulding, all of which are mainstream artists. In a music magazine, the types of things that she will be looking for are: interviews from bands, competitions, new band recommendations, gig reviews and gig listings. Most people in this target range may also enjoy reading about fashion and celebrities. They may also be involved in playing a musical instrument, or may inspire to play in a band while socialising.
Fashion comes through from peoples personal music choices, and will often try and find clothes which they has seen their favourite artist wear- such as Lissie and Laura Marling- or clothing that is comfortable. They will also like to shop in H&M, Topshop, Primark, New Look and River Island as it is affordable for their lifestyle, however, they will often shop in charity shops, as accessories which can be related to music can be found and she will then make them to be original to fit into their musical style. Fashion has also inspired them to often dress up in outfits and make up that make her look individual to match their music choices.
