Evaluating another pitch

I decided I will evaluate Tom Parkin's pitch on his magazine:

I believe that Tom did well in his pitch  as he was able to highlight the key points of his magazine, for example: Title, colour scheme and target audience. By using 'Target audience: Males 15-21'  shows he has a clear insight that he only wants to aim it to such a specific audience. I also think that his colour scheme is a good choice because he is challenging the typical 'black, white and red' colours by using 'dark blue, white and grey', however, he is keeping the white, which I think is a good idea as it is one of the main colours that all magazines use. I also like how he has used the words 'retro' and 'vibrant' as it shows what style of magazine he is going for, I don't think the 'retro' part suits the genre of magazine but this could be due to my lack of knowledge in this genre.

In the pitch, I'm uncertain about the influences that he has picked up for his magazine as Mixmag is a mixture of genre and not just one focus, so I feel that he will need to research more into different Electronic magazine, due to my understanding, I don't think there are  many magazine that he can compare to this style of music. Tom will need to research different magazines and not just Q and NME- as he has shown as a masthead suggested he looked at these magazine styles- as they do not go with his genre.

Overall, I feel that Tom did a better job in this pitch than his first one as he was more clearer in what he was doing and he gave me a small insight in the Electronic genre with the music he choose for his mood board and also by the images he used throughout. His pitch showed he had a clear knowledge about this genre, and this should hopefully reflect when he does his magazine.
