Magazine pitch

Over all, I feel that my magazine pitch went well, and I was able to answer all the questions given to me clearly.I think that my mood board was a good help as it gave a clear understanding to what my magazine target audience, genre and colour palette are going to be. However, I think I could have adding more bands from the soft rock genre as there was not much of a wide variety, which may have suggested that only males are those who sing this genre of music. I think the background music went with my pitch as it is goes well with the genre.

The pitch made me re-think about my magazine name 'Revolution Rock' as it doesn't really relate to soft rock, so I'll need to think about this before my next lesson. At the moment, I'm thinking of the name 'Imagine rock' as the imagine part is from the song 'Imagine' by John Lennon which is categorised as a soft rock song.

Other questions which were asked were about my band members and their look. In my pitch, I said I would go for an all male band, however, in reflection on this, I feel it may be suitable to have a female member as this will be able to grab the attention of the male audience. I have decided that I will have 3 people in my band, 2 guys and one girl. The styling of my band needs to be relaxed and casual. For the males members of my group, I have decided to put them in jeans, t-shirt, trainers/ flat shoes and a jacket. The colour schemes need to be: blues, white, blacks and greys as this also goes with the colour scheme of my magazine. For the female of my magazine, I'm also going with the white t-shirt, blue jeans and black boots, this will go with the colours of my male members of the group and also the colour scheme.

  1. Now you've done your pitch you have to write up how you feel it went, did you learn anything from the feedback from the group (things you hadn't considered, issues you will face etc)? I'd really reconsider Revolution Rock as the revolution part doesn't really go with soft rock. Well done on your pitch though, very confident presentation and a clear sense you understood what you wanted to do.

You also need to go about creating your artist, think about their personality, their dress sense etc.

Also start considering poses, outfits etc
